P is for Positive.

I've really been struggling with staying positive the past few days. I just want Elijah to be here and I am going crazy waiting. In lieu of the annoyingly complain-y post I already wrote and deleted, I decided to write about the things I've enjoyed most about being pregnant:

Ice cream. Any kind, but cookies and cream and chocolate chip cookie dough have reigned supreme.

Fast food runs without (most of) the guilt.

Decorating and organizing the nursery.

Feeling Elijah kick and roll around in my belly. Sometimes creepy and painful? Yes. Awesome and cool? Double yes.

Not having to suck in.

Michael reading bedtime stories to my belly.

Getting to share the milestone with our families.

Being unapologetic about my appearance.

Exploring our neighborhood on our nightly walks (read: efforts to coax him out).

Nursery Sneak Peak

With two weeks left to go, Elijah's nursery is almost done! It's really just laziness in hanging pictures at this point but I'm going to claim pregnancy exhaustion while I still can :) His room is a mix of purchased, donated, and re-purposed items. It's not going to be featured in a pottery barn catalogue anytime soon, but it definitely works for our little boy.

My favorite part is the mobile Amanda and I finished over Memorial Day weekend. I thought it would be a simple project.

A quick outline, sew, stuff, and hang. Done in two hours, right?

Wrong.

After multiple failed attempts and more than one (accidentally) headless giraffe, we started over and finally found a system that worked. The pictures aren't the greatest, but here's a look at the final product:

Much like the pictures, this mobile has yet to be actually hung in Elijah's room.

One thing that is complete is his crib! Surprisingly, it only took Michael and I 30 minutes to set up. It's supposed to be a "lifetime" bed (crib converts to toddler bed converts to full size bed), so here's hoping Elijah doesn't destroy it too quickly.

Zina approves :)

The plan is to finish the nursery this weekend and post pictures next week. If you don't see an update and there is no baby being born to distract me, please yell at me to finish!
